Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee is a wonderful ministry to join if you are looking to meet new people in a social setting. We do not have monthly meetings. We just get together when the parish has an event where they need light refreshments provided. It is mostly coffee, tea, water, soda, etc. and breakfast baked goods, bagels and fruit. There have been a few times we were asked to provide lunch. Events typically happen 10 to 13 times per year, or less. You can donate store bought goods or homemade. Or you can volunteer to help set up, clean up or serve the food. You can pick one or do all four.

The Hospitality Committee leader sends out an email to all committee members about 2 to 3 weeks in advance of the event asking for volunteers to set up or clean up or provide donated baked goods. You simply check your calendar to see if you are available then reply regarding which area you would like to help. Our core team is Connie Stuhlemmer, Michele Santiago and Sharon McHugh. There are presently 45 volunteer members.

You can help us tremendously by donating baked goods and never leave your house except to drop off your donation.

If you prefer a more social environment, you can help set up by putting table covers & simple centerpieces on the tables, setting up the beverage serving table, or plating the donated food. Or you can help clean up, which consists of putting everything away & washing some dishes. There is no moving of tables or chairs (that is all done by another team). We need 5 to 8 people for each of these tasks at each event. Both set up and clean up teams are very friendly & we have a lot of fun. We also encourage our members to mingle with the guests & get to know each other to build community & comradery amongst parishioners.

We welcome any new additions to our team! For questions or to join our group, contact
